Well hi there and welcome to my very first blog post! For the past few years, I have always loved to keep a journal and write out my thoughts, experiences, and stories. Also, English was my favorite course in High School. I discovered that after taking two college level English courses through the University of Minnesota during high school. So, here I am, taking the plunge and starting my very own blog! I am so excited! :) A little bit about me…. My name is Karly and I am a wife to my wonderful husband, Joel. We have been married since July of 2017 and are so happy with our new life together. Joel makes me SO happy each and every day. He helps me stay strong when times are tough and never lets me go a day without smiling. He is my rock. Right now, Joel and I are living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but I did leave a huge piece of my heart in a small town in Minnesota where some of my closest family and friends live. We are both from Minnesota and know once we are both done with college and looking for our forever home, that it will most likely lie in Minnesota. :) I am going to school online through the University of North Dakota in which I will graduate with my bachelor’s degree in Communications in the Spring of 2019. I was so amazed by all of UND's online degrees! View them here! I have found that I really love online schooling. At first, I was nervous about online schooling and thought it would be really tough. But, it turns out, I love it! I can take my "classroom" wherever I want and work whenever I want. Starbucks, my living room, to my mom and dad's back in Minnesota, or even across the world. I always have everything right in front of me. I love that, because I am a thorough person who loves organization in that way. There are so many things I enjoy doing. I have always loved to be outside. Even if it sounds lame, I really love to go on walks. It is relaxing and it feels wonderful to my body. My favorite season is a tie between fall and summer. I love them both. Sometimes Minnesota summers get a little too hot for me, but I love all of the lakes and ways to spend time outdoors in the summer. One of my favorite things to do is to fish. I enjoy fishing in the winter and summer, but I mostly enjoy fishing in the summer because that way I can work on my tan as well. ;) I have always LOVED the water. I love the way it looks, sounds, and the way it makes me feel. It relaxes me to be on a lake with a gorgeous sunset in front of me. I enjoy swimming, boating, jet-skiing, tubing, and skiing. I have loved the lake all of my life. My parents have had a jet ski since I was about 12 and I love hopping on that and zooming across the lake. I'm kind of an adrenaline junky that way. I have always been passionate about people and forming connections. Once I graduate from college, it is a must for me to work with people. I don't think I would do well working in a cubicle typing all day. Just not for me. I know what I don't want when it comes to my future career and that, I think, is very important. I over time have had jobs that I have loved, and jobs that I really didn't like. The jobs I have had have helped me come up with a few career ideas for after I graduate from college.
And that is just a GLIMPSE into my 21 years of life. |
